Here are other IT considerations:
- OpsCenter is fully supported running under a Virtual Machine.
- OpsCenter supports all SQL Server editions including Express. Express will support approximately 25 concurrent users, depending on usage.
- The hardware and software platform for the database server can be any platform that the databases above officially support. If unsure of which platforms are officially supported, you may check the web page for the vendor that develops the database you would like to use.
- The software for both the database and operating system should have the latest patches.
- OpsCenter can be hosted locally or in the Cloud. If you have a preestablished relationship with a Cloud provider OpsCenter can most likely be installed with your existing provider. We have designed OpsCenter to use commonly available operating systems and databases with standard settings. Virtually all Cloud providers support it.
- Alert Technologies provides detailed installation instructions and participates in the installation unless the organization wants to do it by themselves.
- For most of the project Alert Technologies will host your OpsCenter system on our servers. This allows the purchase and installation of your own hardware and software to go on in parallel with configuring the system. As such, the IT organization does not have to have the system ready until near the end of the project which usually gives them plenty of preparation time.
- Alert Technologies understands that many organizations do not have dedicated IT support. The installation and support of OpsCenter is designed to put minimum demand on IT resources.
If any IT people have questions you can feel free to contact Alert directly. We are more than happy to have a conference call with you to discuss what is involved with maintaining OpsCenter.
